Our story
PorchLight began with our mom.

She raised eight children, never showed weakness, and spent her life caring for everyone else. Widowed, single, and still living independently, she lives in her own home while her children balance careers, families, and daily responsibilities.
We tried shared texts, check-in schedules, and family updates, but important details were missed. Worse, our visits started to feel like wellness checks instead of time together.
We created PorchLight to bridge that gap using AI and the technology older adults already know and trust: the telephone.
It rings. She answers. They talk. That's it.
PorchLight helps families stay informed without cameras, complicated apps, or constant questioning. Now, instead of spending our visits checking up on Mom, we can laugh, share stories, and simply enjoy being her children—with greater peace of mind.

What we believe
The senior should never be the user
If they have to learn something, we've failed. No app, no login, no charging cable.
A summary, not surveillance
You get a few honest sentences a day. You don't get a live feed of your parent's life, and neither do we sell one.
Never medical, always careful
We don't diagnose, advise, or triage. We notice, we describe, and we hand it to a human who can act.
Dignity over data
The call is for them as much as for you. Companionship first, reporting second.
